據海上工程師網2022年1月25日報道，3名業內消息人士對路透社記者表示，殼牌公司日前在納米比亞海上的一口備受關注的探井中獲得了重大油氣發現，這個重大發現可能引發國際對納米比亞的投資熱潮。

納米比亞不是一個化石燃料生產國，而其北部鄰國安哥拉是主要的石油和天然氣生產國，也是石油輸出國組織(歐佩克)的成員國。

消息人士稱，目前尚不清楚這些發現是否足以讓殼牌公司繼續開發納米比亞首個深水油田。  

據兩名消息人士稱，納米比亞政府計劃下周公布在格拉夫-1井發現的細節，殼牌公司在去年12月開鉆格拉夫-1井。

Shell Makes 'Significant' Oil and Gas Discovery Offshore Namibia

Shell has made a significant oil and gas discovery at a closely-watched offshore well in Namibia which could spark a wave of investment in the southern African country, three industry sources told Reuters.

Namibia is not a fossil fuel producer, although northern neighbor Angola is a major oil and gas producer and a member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries.

It is unclear if the discoveries are big enough for Shell to go ahead with the development of the country's first deepwater field, the sources said.

The Namibian government is planning to make an announcement next week on the details of the discovery at the Graff-1 well which Shell started drilling last month, according to two of the sources.
